Maths Task

HI guys, this week in my maths workshop we had to make a DLO / Google drawing or a short video, and put some of the questions we answered on it to show our learning, here's mine. (did it with Cleo)

You may have noticed we have been doing the same thing this week, it's because it's just an easier way to show our learning and put it on a blog.

Treaty of Waitangi

Hi guys, in the Kaupeka hub we had to fill out a slide called the Treaty of Waitangi and at the end it told us to make a DLO or answer at least a few of these questions:

    - What might New Zealand look like in the future?
    - How might the Treaty be relevant to people’s lives?
    - Will there still be hurt felt by those who feel wronged?
    - Will every claim be settled?
    - Will it still be called Waitangi Day?
    - How will future children and their whānau celebrate the day?

I decided to make a DLO and answer a few of these questions on my DLO here's what it looks like. Treaty of Waitangi slide

    Communication

Hi guys, in this blog I will be talking about communication and how we used it in our PBL groups and I'll be answering some questions about communication.

    - Why is communication important for the future?
Communication is very important for the future, people use communication every day, communication is used for coming up with idea's for inventing things or for future buildings and new machines or devices.

    - What are the different ways we communicate messages?
We communicate on games, apps, laptops, computers, devices, or in person, a lot of kids these days are using devices / phones to communicate to one another out of school or from far distances.

    - Do we communicate in different ways compared to 10 years ago?
I think we communicate A LOT differently compared to 10 years age for example on devices or even in the way we talk now in person to one another for example like kids now days say "like" at least once in almost every sentence.

    Reading Workshop follow up

In this weeks reading workshop we had to make a doc / google drawing and list some important things we noticed in the book we read that we think is important to add into our reports to make it more interesting / Professional, here is my list (That I made with Cleo)

    Collaboration

Hi Guys, in this blog I will be talking about collaboration and PBL, for PBL this term we are doing a school fair, we have been split up into groups of 4 to work on our projects with.

    - Work highly effectively and interdependently, identifying and using each other's strengths and skills.
I think I worked well in my group and in using each others strengths and skills and in coming up with good idea's for our project.

    - Respectfully raise and explore different options and are able to move forward in the direction the team identifies.
We went through a few ideas for our final product I think I did well going through the ideas and choosing which one was the best and in deciding with my group, I think I also did well in trying to move forward in the direction the team identifies.

    - Take active responsibility for the way the group works together to create a quality product.
I think I did well in helping the team put together our final game / product, we got along and worked together well in building and designing our game.

    Writing Report sentence starters

In my writing workshop we had to make a DLO (Digital learning object) I did mine with Cleo and we did ours on a google drawing, on the google drawing we had to come up with sentence starters for our reports about New Zealanders we think did great things, here is what our DLO looks like.

The blank spaces are for people who might be able to use these in their reports, (I probably will)

    Creativity Blog

In the Kaupeka hub we did a creativity thing where we had to come up with 100 ways to use a paper clip and turn circles and squares into objects or animals, basically anything.

5 ways to use a paper clip:
    1) Hold paper together
    2) Hold socks together in the washing machine
    3) Peg
    4) Hold hair ties together / Rubber bands / more paper clips ect.
    5) Hair clip

    Self:
What kind of thinker am I?
I think I am quite a creative thinker but again depends on what topic I am thinking about

What creative thinking skills do I have and which could I work on and why?
The creative thinking skills I think I have are either drawings so the people reading whatever I'm writing down can visualise what I'm talking about, I also think I can come up with ok idea's but things that I could work on are wording the idea out and figuring out how to write it down with a explanation so the reader understands

What aspects of creative thinking do I find the hardest?
Sometimes I struggle coming up with idea's but it really depends on what ideas we are trying to come up with.

    Reading Task

In my reading workshop we read about Papua New Guinea, and Caritas in Papa New Guinea, what they do there is help with gender equality and the dehydration, here are some facts we found while reading.
Papua New Guinea's population at the moment is at 8.78 Million people
Papua New Guinea once used Sea shells as money
