Read & Feed

Lately the teachers have been reading a novel to us while we eat, there were 3 options to chose from, boy in the striped pajama's, Chinese Cinderella, and the Diary of Anne Frank, I chose the boy in the striped pajama's because iv heard of it before and I think it's gonna be very interesting, I haven't seen the movie but my sister has and by her reaction I'm curious, I can't wait to hear the rest of the story, we do it every Tuesday during eat time at lunch. what's your favourite book? 

Digital Self portrait

This week we have been learning how to make a self portrait on google drawings, I decided not to finish mine and keep it like this because it's our own art and I think I looks pretty good like this, I tried to add the eyes and nose but I just didn't like it, anyway, here's what mine looks like.

 I know it's not the best... but I tried and I think it looks really cool without the eyes, nose and mouth.

This week in my reading workshop we read a book called children war, we had to write on a google doc 6 words we chose from the story and explain what they mean here is what mine looks like

Winter Sport

When you become a year 5 all the way up to year 8 you have to do winter sport (I'm year 7) for winter sport you have to chose from, rugby, soccer, netball, and hockey, when I first started doing winter sport my first choice was hockey, but I ended up in a netball team, I never knew how to play netball and iv never played hockey either, but eventually I learnt and it was really fun, but this year I put netball as my first option like always now but the teams were full so I was put in a hockey team, and like I said at the start iv never played hockey and it's very different to me, it's much more aggressive than netball and I'm not used to that, I was already injured on my toe from getting hit by a hockey ball, but it's recovered now, anyway, you can tell that I like netball more, if your doing winter sport for you school, what sport are you doing?

Problem Solving

This week for the problem solving we had to complete stairs to squares and make a video explaining how we did it, here's my video link so you can check it out too

Teacher Strike

On Wednesday there was a teacher strike which meant all schools had the day off, The Teachers went on strike because they don't get enough time to teach us (I think) most of our school days it's admin and not enough learning
Besides that I'm not really sure what else is going on but that's what I think and heard about it. 

Reading Task

This week in my reading workshop we read two books and went on a google slide and we had to write down the differences, the similarities, and questions we would ask the Author, here is what mine looked like.

Bingo Card

This week in the Kaupeka hub The teachers have put together a Bingo card, our goal is to finish it, there are lots of different tasks on it for us to do and in this blog I have to share with you one thing that I have completed from the bingo card and I have chosen book track, My book is called Camping it is inspired by a game where you and your class mates hop on the back of a truck and head off to camp, you set up for the night and sit by the campfire sharing stories when suddenly a dark shadow drops from the trees and they have to run to a cave to keep safe, and on the second night they had to sleep in the cave because one of their tents collapsed during a storm and they couldn't all fit in one tent, they realize they had forgotten their picnic basket (How though it's food, everyone loves food how could you leave food behind..?!) so they had to send someone to go get it.

Reading Task

For week 6 in reading we read a book called MeMe and Me and it was about a girl who just got her first phone that she had saved up for and she posted a picture on the internet of her with a fishtail plait she just learnt how to do and in the picture her eyes were electric blue but they were actually brown and there was a girl who messaged her and said that they looked very similar and they should be friends, and she said yes, but MeMe was not to be trusted, whenever she went out somewhere without MeMe she would get very angry and yell at her, one night when she went to bed she had a dream about MeMe yelling at her and she came out of the phone and she got sucked in and MeMe was standing there laughing, then she woke up. 

This is what we had to do for our reading Task. 

Breakout EDU

This week we are doing Break out EDU, this is where we went to the library and had to solve mysteries, we had to look around the library for clues which were all Wonder themed, we made it out with 13 or 16 minutes to spare starting off with 50, the groups were organised with 2 current event groups working together, one of the people in our team found a small box with a blue light in it and we had to find a code to unlock the lock on it, once we found out the code we opened it and got the blue light out and shined it on a couple of things and there were letters all over these pieces of paper, after a while a person from our team found it out but I have no clue how but then we opened up the big box and escaped, the prize was 150 Banqer dollars, have you done a break out room before?
