Narrative Writing

In the kaupeka hub we had to write a long narrative story and publish it on a blog, which is what I am doing now, My story is about Quill lake, Quill lake is a very mysterious and deep lake, anyway, here it is if you are wanting to read it.

Quill Lake
The Missing Pieces

Many Years ago . . .
A robot missing it’s pieces was studied, and confirmed that once all the pieces were put together it would create a very powerful source, but no one knows what power it holds, some say it hides in the depths of Quill Lake. No one knows if that is true or not, after the explosion in the lab, they searched everywhere
for the scraps of the robot but no luck . . .

17 / 6 / 2019 . . . Sasha’s Diary
Two scuba divers have recently been chosen to explore the mysterious depths of QuillLake, to find the missing Robot pieces. no one has been down there since the “incident” that happened 3 years ago. since then, no one has been brave enough to search for the missing pieces . . .

3 Years ago Quill Lake . . .
It was a sunny day, the beach was covered with umbrellas, colourful towels, and sandcastles, Children were playing in the water, there was a huge splash everyone looked over, there were screams, the kids were pulled under the water quickly, one by one, no one knows what had pulled them under, it still remains a mystery to this day . . .

A Scary Start
The Divers splashed into the lake, They let themselves sink down into the water, they went down and down and down, until they hit the squishy sand at the bottom, it was so blue and so calming, there was so much to explore and it still went deeper, they swam around until, “What’s that?” said Justin, “Hm? Not sure . . . let’s check it out” Jacob suggested, Justin swam ahead of Jacob, “Looks like some sorta Robot scrap” Said Justin “Robot scrap . . . Hm . . . Wait, Robot Scrap!? Grab it! It must be a part of the missing pieces!” Jacob explained “Pft you believe that myth?” Said Justin “It’s true!” Jacob bolted over to the mysterious piece of metal, “J-Jacob- Slowly . . . Swim toward me . . .” Justin said “Why? I’m just gonna get this piece, it’s very important-” Jacob said as he turned around to face Justin, “Justin- Look behind you . . .” Jacob Said as he noticed mysterious creatures around Justin, “Jacob, look behind you!” Justin said, They both turned around to see angry ghost pirates surrounding them, “What do ye think ya doing around our cove? Not stealing me treasure, are ya?”

Ice Box
“Nope! We were just leaving . . .” Said Justin “Right Jacob” ''But the Robot-” Was all Jacob could spit out before Justin grabbed his arm and bolted away as fast as he could, “Where are we going!?” Said Jacob, “We’re lost!” “We can just swim up we’re fine” Said Justin, They swam up and up and up until they could see the surface, “Few . . .wait Justin, is that ice?! How could there be ice!? We’re gonna drown here, what do we do,” Jacob said “Calm down . . . W-we’ll find a way . . .”

Icy Escape
The Divers swam around for a bit looking for a way to get out of this mess, “We need some sort of pickaxe, but who would drop a pickaxe in a lake-” “Found one!” yelled Jacob, He picked up the frosted covered pickaxe. “Here,” Justin took the pickaxe out of Jacob’s hand, only just realizing how heavy it is, he almost drops it down into the dark blue depths, “That was close, we could have drowned here if you dropped that” Jacob explained, “Haha yeah” Justin replied as he gripped onto the pickaxe just incase, “So, why are we down here again?” Justin said as he swung the pickaxe into the ice, “We’re here to find the missing pieces, and I did find one, but we could have gotten it faster if you weren't distracting me, now those pirates have it so we’re doomed.” Jacob explained, “Are you sure? Aren’t there lots of little pieces scattered around this lake” Justin said, “Yes but we need all of them, hopefully we get more experience from being down here to be able to get that piece from those pirates” Jacob said, Justin took another swing at the ice, he pulled back the pickaxe to take another swing, when suddenly it slips out of his hands into the dark depths. “NO!” Shouted Jacob, they stared at each other for a moment, “What do we do . . . ?”

A Toxic Power cell
Justin ignored Jacob and peered off in the distance, “Wha- What?” Justin murmured, He swam over towards a giant rusty ship, “The water is much greener around here . . .” Said Justin, They swam around the ship, examining it, one side of the ship was missing, shipping containers piled out of the ship, Justin swam inside the opened side of the ship, “There’s a door” He said, Justin swam towards the door, he looked around before he went in, “Seems fine” Jacob said, Justin went in, there were huge broken motors and rusty things, Justin swam around the rusty items and spotted something, “Huh, A rusty robot head and an old powercel” Justin said, “That’s gotta be something to do with the missing pieces” Jacob said, Justin picked it up and put it in his sack, They swam out of the rusty ship.

A Volcanic Leg
Justin and Jacob swam around for a bit, the ocean went silent. “It’s so quiet” Justin pointed out, Waves started to form on the surface and the squishy sand at the bottom of the lake started to rumble, “Uh . . .” Jacob mumbled, a school of fish bolted past them, “Uh oh?” Justin said, a metal arm was flung at Jacob’s head from the darkness, “Oh- OW” He said, a voice from the darkness yelled “Take your stinking robot arm thing back, it’s useless!” “Well, that was easy, 1 arm 2 legs to go” Jacob said, Justin swam straight down, “What are you doing?” Jacob questioned, Justin kept going down until he hit the bottom, he searched around for any useful items, “Hm, some sorta geolocactor” He said to himself, he swam back up to Jacob, “Here” Justin said passing it to Jacob, “Hm, I could use this to find an underwater volcano, I bet there’s a missing piece there somewhere” Jacob said, “Good idea.” Justin said, Jacob fiddled around with it for a bit until, “Found one,” he said, “Nice” They swam around it for a bit looking for an opening, “There’s one” they swam inside and looked around “over here” Justin said, “There’s a button” Jacob said, Justin leaned over him and pressed it, “Something opened, I heard it” Justin said, “Well this was easy” said Jacob, “There’s where it opened!” Justin said, he swam towards it and leaned out for the leg,  Justin picked it up in his hands and tossed it around leaving red marks on his hands “Ow, Hot!” he said as he quickly stuffed it into the sack, “Let’s head outta here” Jacob suggested, they swam out.

   Coral reef
Justin and Jacob went a different direction this time, there were bright colors forming in front of them, “What’s that?” Jacob question, They got closer, “It’s a coral reef, maybe a piece is in here??” Justin said, “Maybe” Jacob replied, they swam around observing the reef, “Look, a cave. There’s a treasure chest inside” Justin said, they swam inside the cave lifting open the chest, “Theres a piece here, yes!” Said Jacob, “Look at the bottom of the chest . . . there’s a handle, pull it.” Justin said, Jacob pulled the handle, a secret compartment in the chest opened, “No way, there’s another piece! The lab already has the torso so we just need to swim back up and get outta here!”
